She is famous for flashing the flesh in a series of provocative outfits.
But
it seems Courtney Stodden's love of tiny shorts, low cut tops and sky
high stripper heels hasn't gone down too well with her fellow Couples
Therapy housemates.
So
the VH1 show's host Dr Jenn Bermann takes the reluctant 18-year-old out
clothes shopping in search for a more demure look in Wednesday night's
episode of the show.
Dressed to impress: Courtney Stodden goes for a 'make-under' on Wednesday night's edition of Couple's Therapy
'This store is a little bit
different from what you're used to, but I think you'll find something
more elegant,' Dr Bermann tells Courtney, who is wearing her requisite
plunging crop top and mini skirt.
'The
way Courtney dresses not only distracts all the couples a little bit,
but more importantly, it's creating tension in her relationship with
Doug,' Bermann tells viewers.
But Courtney proves to be a tough customer, turning her nose up at a pair of shorts proffered to her by the stylist.
Ditching the mini-skirts: Courtney accompanied Dr Jenn Bermann to the clothes store more a more demure outfit
Marriage troubles: Dr Bermann believed Courtney's decision to go shopping may help her relationship tension with husband Doug
'No, that's totally not happening,' says
Courtney. 'Maybe if I was a bookworm and worked in a library or
something, then I would be down with that.'
A strapless maxi dress went down equally as badly, with Courtney declaring: 'I look like a nun!'
She
is finally persuaded to wear tight white jeans and an extremely low cut
vest top which covered her midriff, but admits she is only changing her
image for the good of the house.
The max factor: Courtney declared she 'looked like a nun' in her navy blue strapless maxi-dress
Not to the shorts: Courtney said she'd look like a 'librarian' in the white shorts proffered to her from the stylist
'The things in here I wouldn't wear on a
daily basis,' says Courtney. 'It's really not my style. I think this
has mostly to do with the house that I'm in. A big part of this is
judgemental. It's the backlash for being beautiful.'
Despite Courtney's reservations, Dr Berman is pleased her willingness to cover herself up.
'Since
Courtney's arrived, she's literally been wearing shorts shorts that
show her butt cheeks and a bra for a top,' she tells viewers.
'It's been difficult for everybody else to have a serious conversation dressed like that.'
Making an effort: Courtney says she agreed to the trip to try to fit in better with the housemates on Couples Therapy
Not really my style: Courtney said she was really into the more demure items in the store
Courtney's 52-year-old husband, actor Doug Hutchison is pleased when Courtney arrives in her slightly more elegant wear.
'After Courtney went shopping and I saw her for the first
time it felt good because when we go out in public and Courtney is
dressed the way she's dressed, it comes with a lot of stress because
it's all about the attention,' says Doug. 'All I want is to feel like her equal. That's the end game for me.'
Hoping
her new attire 'pleases everybody in the house,' Courtney tests her new
image on blogger Nik Richie who thanks her for 'making sacrifices' for
the good of the house.
A little more demure: Courtney can't resist
sporting her favourite stripper heels, although covers up her legs in
white jeans and a tight turquoise top
Naughty bits hidden: Courtney can't resist the urge to wiggle her posterior at husband Doug Hutchison
