And the film's star Naomi Watts could very well pass as her maid of honour.
The two beauties wore elegant dresses in colours of white and champagne to the Museum of Art and Design on Wednesday night.
Impossibly beautiful: Naomi Watts is joined on
the red carpet by model Petra Nemcova for the New York screening of The
Impossible at the Museum of Art and Design
She matched her nails and shoes to the dark detail of the dress but added some colour with a flash of rouge on her lips.
The Australian actress's blonde locks were simply parted to the side to frame her glowing face.
Bridal colours: Looking like they could be a
bride and her maid of honour, Petra and Naomi look the same age despite
their 11 year age gap
Designer: Calvin Klein presented the screening
and his a label close to Naomi's heart as she met her husband in one of
his dresses
Sparkling: The champagne colour of the strapless dress gave Naomi an all over glow
A golden clutch bag set off the pure white off the dress and like Naomi, the mode opted for a red shade on her lips with golden smokey eyes to highlight her brown eyes.
However, Petra's wide smile was most likely hiding a hint of sadness, for the film that documents the true story of a family caught up in the 2004 Tsunami has personal significance to the model.
Impossibly youthful: At 44-years old, Naomi barely looks out of her twenties as she poses at the screening
Remembrance: The film about the Tsunami disaster
of 2004 has personal significance to Petra who lost her fiance in
Thailand when the wave hit
Co-stars: Naomi plays Marie who is separated from her husband played by Ewan McGregor when the Tsunami hits
She too was affected by the natural disaster whilst in Thailand with her fiancé the photographer Simon Atlee.Sadly, whilst Petra only sustained an injury, Simon was killed and so in his honour, she set up the Happy Hearts Fund.
The charity's mission is to improve children's lives through educational and sustainable programs in natural disaster areas.
The team: Ewan joined the Aussie actress along with the film's director J. A. Bayona
Loved up: Naomi's husband, fellow actor Liev
Schreiber joined her at the New York event in a black suit, white shirt
and grey tie
Separated, Henry and Maria begin a frantic search to reunite as a family once more.
The Scottish actor joined his onscreen wife at the premiere as well as the film's director J. A. Bayona.
However, Naomi's real life husband Liev Schreiber kept close to his wife at the event presented by Calvin Klein, a designer close to the actress's heart as she said she first met her beau in one of Calvin's dresses.
Mismatched: Whilst Petra looked ready for a wedding, Maria Belon looked like she'd just stepped out of the office
